1. What was the Name Reallocation Process?
Your .coop domain name account was initially managed by the dotCoop registry. This was an interim arrangement between dotCoop and the organisation that licences all domain names, ICANN, while .coop was in its start-up phase.
In April 2003, as part of the dotCoop agreement with ICANN, all.coop domain name holders have had their accounts reallocated to Registrars who are domain registration specialists, responsible for providing you with the means to manage and service your account.
During March and April 2003, DotCoop allowed all those who had registered their domains prior to October 1, 2002 (who were affected by the reallocation) to select a registrar. If a registrar was not selected prior to the allocation date, then your registration was randomly assigned to a registrar.

2. How do I know who my Registrar is after Reallocation?
You can enter your domain name on the .coop whois search and the name of your "sponsoring registrar" will be displayed.
Contact the registry at support@communicate.coop if you need more information about your registrar.

3. Where do I renew my domain if I registered on the https://register.nic.coop site?
If your initial registration was made prior to 1 October 2002, this was the registration site. In April 2003 all names were reallocated to .coop registrars.
To see who your .coop registrar is, go to the .coop whois search and enter your domain name. The "Sponsoring Registrar" displayed in the first block of information is your current registrar.
